Juliana Restrepo is a conservation biologist, expedition travel specialist and co-founder of Expedition Advisory. Her scientific background and experience working aboard expedition ships give her a distinctive understanding of wildlife, ecosystems and how expedition operations shape the traveller experience.
From Colombia’s coffee region to the polar world
Juliana grew up in Colombia’s coffee region, but her relationship with the ocean began early through diving and her father’s dive business. The sense of wonder she discovered underwater never left her.
That curiosity developed into a deeper commitment to the natural world. She completed a Master’s in Conservation Biology and brought that perspective aboard expedition ships as a naturalist, lecturer, zodiac driver and assistant expedition leader.
Her years in the field taught her that a memorable voyage is shaped by more than the destination. Wildlife encounters, the experience of the expedition team and the way an operation responds to changing conditions all influence how a journey feels.
